EDITORIAL: Homophobic Baptists

If you believe HIV/AIDS is spread across America primarily by homosexuals, you are correct. If you believe homosexuality is a sin, you are correct. If you are a homophobic Baptist and have therefore turned your back on the homosexual community and anyone with HIV/AIDS, then you are sinning as well. Caring for the sick includes people with HIV/AIDS. Yes, even if they are homosexuals.

I see no "good Christian" among you wants to comment on this story. The same way you won't comment on why Massachusettes--in addition to allowing gay marriage--has one of the lowest divorce rates in the country. Or why evangelical "Christian" have higher divorce rates than atheists....

I'm so glad to see that SOMEONE gets it! While we may see homosexuality as repulsive, that does not give us an excuse to ignore the spiritual and physical needs of those people. They need Jesus Christ just like the rest of us and our judgmentalism does nothing to bring them to Him. We should aks ourselves a question: Just what IS our objective? If it's anything less than bringing lost and dying people to a meeting with Christ, it's wrong.
