Excellent Story yet, very convicting. You hit the nail on the head! We Christians (beginning with myself) need to get about the Lord’s work. Our churches have become very diluted by satan's influence. You are correct, a day should never go by that we haven't diligently prayed for someone who is lost.
We need to always be mindful that we Christians are just dirty, rotten, sinners that have been saved by the precious blood of Jesus. Nothing that we have done, or can do on our own, only through God's Mercy and Grace can we be saved.
A statement was made two years ago during the annual Pott/Lincoln Baptist associational meeting that really made our heads drop. The president of Lifeway was delivering his talk and gave some shocking statistics. He stated that nation wide, on average; it takes 50 Southern Baptist members to lead one lost "Soul" to the Lord, in a year. This statistic makes worthy your question of "Where's baptisms"?
In the USA there are approximately 6,500 deaths, from all causes excluding Abortion (murdering babies), every single day of the year. That's around 2.4 million people a year. I would say that time is of extreme urgency to be reaching the "Lost" for Christ.
World wide, the population is at 6.6477 billion and counting. The world wide death rate is estimated to be about 158,000 people per day or 57.7 million people per year.
We all need to pray for each other and support one another as we strive to reach our Communities, our State, and the World for Jesus. Thanks again for the humbling story and may the Holy Spirit convict our hearts and give each of us a sense of urgency to spread the good news. Keep up the great work!
Respectfully,

Every Christain should be very concerned about "where are the Baptisms"?
I have, probably a different idea, but I believe many of them have been lost with the SUNDAY SCHOOL.
My observation is particularly in "my" Church the Sunday School has been very neglected, and I also see this in most other Churches. We still have it every Sunday morning, but not very much emphasis. We do a lot of other good things (programs) with more emphasis. But as we all know, the Sunday School is the Church organized and functioning. My belief is that we need to go back to some of the old tried and proven methods of having SUNDAY SCHOOL!

Dr. Jordan,
You spoke directly to our church in a most appropriate time! You even used the word "Christ-followers". Our pastor is wholeheartedly with you on this subject. You couldn't have said it any plainer. It is good for our local body to hear it from someone else. There has been, as you could imagine, some friction. Please pray for us to move forward in this direction. We are looking forward to your and Greg Frizzell's visit in March @ the Leflore Baptist Association! Thanks for following Christ! Nancy

Right on! We must remember our "facilities and activities" must never replace our mission. They are mere "tools" (to quote my husband) to facilitate and activate the "church" to be the witness in our community and our world.
I read this article to the young adult SS class I teach, it fit so well with Sunday's lesson "Do you care about others?"

I just wanted to say that the news media coverage was very disappointing about Rose day. What little I read on the net referred to us as Anti-abortionist rather than Pro-life supporters. Frank Provne did a great job & I believe he could defend our position on Pro-life anywhere. We were blessed to have him as the speaker.
I am now reading Dr. Frizzell's book "Iceberg Dead Ahead" which you have committed on in your "perspective". I agree with you, we need a major turnaround.
